Brows Pre Care

Please make sure you read and follow the instructions below prior to your appointment to ensure the best results:

  • Do not take vitamins A, E, B6, Niacin, Fish oil, Omega 3, Gingko Biloba, St. John's Wort or Evening Primrose oil (they all contribute to thinning the blood) for a minimum of 7 days prior to your procedure

  • Refrain from alcohol, aspirin, Ibuprofen (Advil) and Aleve for 24 hours prior to your appointment. The only product for aches and pain that can be used and will not make you bleed is Tylenol

  • NOTE: All of the above vitamins, supplements and medication may make you bleed excessively which during the procedure will negatively affect the longevity of your PMU and in some cases, may need to be prematurely stopped

  • Do not have Botox in the forehead and eye area for a minimum of 2 weeks before or after your procedure

  • Avoid chemical peels, microdermabrasion or other invasive facials for a minimum of 3 weeks prior to procedure

  • Discontinue Vitamin A, Retinol, Glycolic Acid and prescription Retin-A products for a minimum of 3 weeks prior to procedure.

  • Do not tint your eyebrows for a minimum of 7 days prior to your procedure

  • Any brow shaping including waxing, tweezing or threading should be completed a minimum of 2 days prior to your procedure

  • Do not tan 2 weeks prior to your procedure

  • Avoid consuming energy drinks, coffee and any other beverages containing caffeine for 24 hours prior to your appointment. Not having caffeine in your system will help you to relax, as well as help to relax the facial muscles in the areas I will be working on

  • Feel free to come to your appointment with your brow makeup on as this allows me to see what your use to. This is important if you have specific ideas on your brow shape. If open to suggestions I’m happy to provide options that will personally suit you

  • I will not to tattoo over any blemishes, sores, moles, skin tags etc. in or around the brow area

Brows Post Care

Please make sure you read and follow the instructions below for a full 2 weeks to ensure the best healing results and color retention for your brows. Please note results will vary for all individuals and as such are not guaranteed.

CARE:

  • Wash hands with antibacterial soap before you wash your eyebrows

  • Gently wash your eyebrows twice a day for 10 -14 days with the provided Brow Wash

  • DO NOT RUB THE AREA IN ANY WAY

  • Gently pat dry your brows dry with a clean lint free tissue or soft towel ensuing the area is completely dry and no moisture is left behind

  • Apply a very thin layer of the ointment I have provided you with in your after care take home package after washing twice daily

  • Avoid getting your brows wet. When showering, wash your hair last and ensure the water does not run over them

  • Do not use any Retin-A, Glycolic Acids, Peroxide, or Neosporin while healing

  • Do not scrub or pick your eyebrows. Eyebrows will “shed” this is normal and occurs naturally. Picking the skin may result in improper healing and discolor saturation

  • Do not expose your brows to sun or use a tanning bed, always use an SPF

  • Avoid swimming, whirlpools, steam rooms or sauna

  • No heavy sweating! This includes hot yoga. Sweat contains salt, which can infect and potentially prematurely fade or alter the color of your permanent makeup. Moderate exercise is fine

  • Do use any make-up, creams, exfoliates or Vaseline on your brows

  • Avoid facials, massages and any other skin treatments

  • Avoid laser light treatments as this can darken, lighten and distort the pigment

What to Expect after PMU Services

  • Slight swelling, thickness, and/or redness for 1 - 3 days following the procedure is normal and will subside

  • Don’t be concerned that your eyebrows initially appear 20 - 30% darker and thicker in size then you desire, this can last up to 2 weeks and is all part of the healing process. Your skin is red under the pigment, which causes the color of the pigment to appear darker and as your brows begin to flake they will narrow in size

  • Around days 4 to 5, you will experience flaking/scabbing and your brows may look dry.

    DO NOT pick your brows,

let any dryness fall off naturally. If flakes get picked off this can prematurely damage

your PMU resulting in patchy brows that can lead to scarring.

  • DO NOT expect your brow tattoos to heal perfectly after your first session, this can be a

two-step process and it takes time! BE PATIENT during your first 10 day of healing as

your brows will change and appear different from day to day

  • It is normal to lose approximately 30-40% of the color during the healing process

  • Please be patient, healing takes up to 30 days
